FRANCE. Circa 1800. Scale and weights. Oval-shaped wooden case contains an iron balance beam with two brass weighing trays; a complete set of 5 cupped, brass weights; and two brass weights that would have originally been held in a small locker (the lid of which is now missing). Inside of case lid with table of weights, now damaged in areas. Two clasps, one now broken, would have originally secured the case. Lettering scratched onto lid of case. Dimensions of case: 18.0 x 5.5 x 1.7cm. Cf. Malter XII, lot 175.
