ARGENTINA. 8 Soles, 1815-PTS FL. NGC AU-58.
CJ-6.1.11; KM-15. Single year issue from the first occupation of the Potosi mint by the new provisional government. The mint would fall back in the hands of royalist forces the following year. The historical significance of the piece is only exceeded by its extraordinary state of preservation. A coin that started out with much going for it, the strike was superior and nearly all of the sunface remains to show off the design. A light veneer of tone covers most of the surfaces, but does little to hold back the luster. A splendid example of this highly sought after issue, we expect significant interest as it heads to auction. NGC AU-58.
Estimate: $1100.00- $1400.00
