BOLIVIA. Uniface Trial 8 Strike Reales, 1824. Ferdinand VII (1808-1833). NGC AU-55.
47 gms. cf.KM-84; cf.Cal-Type-159#615. VERY RARE. A highly unusual trial striking, especially given the fact that the design had already been in production in Potosi for sixteen years at the time this piece was made. Struck on a heavy planchet weighing approximately 20 grams more than the standard 8 Reales. Sharply struck with alluring smokey blue and gray clear toning that greatly enhances the appeal of the piece, and with little in the way of actual wear. A piece that is sure to add depth to the collection it enters. NGC AU-55.
