Approximately 42 mm. Fonrobert-9463. Uniformed half-length bust of Simon Bolivar right; Reverse: Radiant sun rising on the Cerro de Potosi with town at base of mountain. Issued by the city of Potosi which had been a well spring of riches for the Spanish empire owing to the rich silver deposits found in the nearby mountain and is featured on the reverse. A nice military portrait of Bolivar. Sharply struck with full details and attractive moderate toning. A choice example which is not offered with regularity and certainly not in this high quality.
