DANISH WEST INDIES. 20 Cents (Franc), 1907. NGC PL-62.
KM-81; Sieg-33; H-39. RARE. Housed within an older NGC holder. Population of two with four finer at NGC and PCGS combined. Reported mintage of 10 in prooflike according to Krause, with the grading service population reports tending to confirm this assessment with a total of only seven coins submitted (including possible resubmissions). A wonderfully well preserved example with a few light wispy marks in the fields, and a bold crisp portrait. The reverse depiction of women in native attire is exquisitely preserved, with the effigies completely free of marks. Glossy mirrored fields provide nearly cameo contrast to the fine frosted devices. A real opportunity to add significantly to the depth and sophistication of any Danish West Indies collection, and a coin sure to see spirited competition as it crosses the auction block. NGC PL-62.
