FRANCE. Certified 20 Centimes, ca. 1850-67. NGC UNC Details--Surface Hairlines to NGC MS-66.
37 pieces in lot. An accumulation of three types of silver 20 Centimes comprised of Second Republic Ceres head (KM-758.1), bare head Napoleon III (KM-778.1) and laureate head Napoleon III (KM-808.1/.2) issues. Heavy duplication and with a narrow spread of dates and mints, the later date type including issues from Strasbourg, with the earlier types confined to Paris. Counter to this narrow focus is the extremely high grades garnered by this grouping from NGC, with many graded superb gem. A single coin graded by ICG and only two Details graded pieces in the lot. Strong luster from beneath light to medium toning on nearly all of the pieces, making for a very handsome selection that is showcase ready. Retail value of about $3,300. Inspection advised.
