FRANCE. Collection of Certified 50 Centimes, ca. 1847-1927. NGC, PCGS, ICG AU-50 to MS-67.
39 pieces in lot. A large offering of mostly silver 50 Centimes, all certified by NGC, PCGS or ICG. Includes Louis Philippe I (KM-768), bare head Napoleon III (KM-794), laureate head Napoleon III (KM-814), Third Republic Ceres head (KM-834), walking sower (KM-854) and seated Mercury (KM-884) types. Heaviest in pieces from the Second Empire many of which have been assigned gem grades. A small handful failed to attain uncirculated status with only three pieces Details graded. Overall a very high grade offering with light duplication allowing for tremendous upgrade opportunities. Most pieces exhibit strong brilliant luster, a few with glittering silver surfaces from beneath attractive old envelope multi-colored toning. Fully worthy of closer inspection to grasp the full scope of the dates and grades. Retail value of about $2,900. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. NGC, PCGS, ICG AU-50 to MS-67.
