GERMAN EAST AFRICA. 5 Mark, 1894-A. NGC AU-55.
KM-7; Dav-429; Jaeger-707. New Guinea's coinage was recalled after the territory passed from Reich administration. Australian occupation in World War I saw the disappearance of much of the remaining coinage. The few surviving examples in any grade are highly sought after, and this straight graded piece is no exception. Lightly toned with much remaining luster and very conservatively graded. NGC AU-55.
Estimate: $2000.00- $2500.00
