GERMANY. Bavaria. Taler, 1743. Emperor Charles VII (1742-45). NGC AU-58.
D-1947; KM-464; JB-1964; Hahn-277. A tumultuous period for this German state, with Bavaria occupied by Austrian troops under Maria Theresa at the time this piece was struck. Emperor Charles VII, also known simply as Karl Albrecht elector of Bavaria prior to his coronation, was notably the only person to become emperor in over three centuries without being born of the House of Habsburg. His reign was marked by near constant conflict. The piece remains in an astonishing state of preservation, with prooflike reverse fields and very little wear. Lightly toned and fully original, for this one year type an amazing example that is sure to add depth to the collection it joins. NGC AU-58.

Estimate: $2000.00- $2500.00
