GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Crown, 1646. Newark Besieged. Charles I (1625-49). PCGS Genuine--Tooled, VF Details Secure Holder.
S-3140a; N-2638. From the Siege of Newark, with the eventual surrender finally arriving on May 6 of 1646. Far better preserved than most examples for wear, with minor evidence of tooling and a rich dark patina that is evenly distributed. Deeply impressed designs on both sides, a well fabricated piece given the far less than ideal conditions when made. PCGS Genuine--Tooled, VF Details Secure Holder.
