GUATEMALA. 8 Reales, 1770-P. Charles III (1759-88). NGC AU-53.
KM-27.2; FC-19; Cal-Type-93#819. Population of one with a single coin finer (AU-58) at NGC. One of the finest extant for this short reign, and highly desirable as such. An issue that saw heavy circulation in commerce with very few surviving above Very Fine. Alluring aquamarine blue tone coats the protected areas of the periphery, with a clear smokey tone enhancing the central areas of the coin. Well struck, and with nearly full detail remaining in the pillars and globes. An opportunity not to be missed; it may well be a considerable wait before another example is available at this level.
