Pag-8; C-2; Dav-199. Terrific allegorical scene with an Italian maiden, heron at her side, approaching her liberator with a nesting cock atop his helmet. What had to be viewed as an abhorrent design by the denizens of the new Republic, but which has somehow survived in the form of this remarkably well preserved crown size coin. Fully original, with just enough tone to accentuate the design. Very SCARCE in this CHOICE MINT STATE condition. NGC MS-63.
