MEXICO. War of Independence. Oaxaca. 8 Reales, 1812-R. VERY GOOD.
cf.KM-168; cf.Cal-Type-154#586. Cast with the reverse having not fully set-up in the mold. Made in a local Oaxaca blacksmith shop by Royalists under the command of Lieutenant General Saravia just prior to their surrender to the Insurgents. Holed and repaired plus heavily circulated. Never the less a RARE type that is always hotly pursued when available. Of great historical significance. We are confident in the authenticity of the piece, however both grading services declined to authenticate it. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. Holed and repaired, polished. VERY GOOD.
Estimate: $1000.00- $1500.00
