MEXICO. Peso, 1914. ANACS AU Details--Cleaned.
KM-453. KEY DATE. With a mintage of 140,000, the issue is far and away the lowest of the 5 year series and with few surviving examples. The next emission of Peso denominated coinage from Mexico City would not come until 1918, and then on much lighter planchets. Stands to reason the older varieties would have been melted or hoarded. A presentable example of the issue, lightly cleaned but with nearly full detail. For collectors missing the date, a reasonable alternative to a four digit priced coin were it straight-graded. Appealing bright luster with light attractive tone. ANACS AU Details--Cleaned.
