MEXICO. 7th Railway Congress Gold Medal, 1950. NGC MS-61.
40 mm; 41.5 gms. Grove-570. SCARCE. NGC has only seen three of this issue in gold, another MS-61 and a single piece two points finer. Depicts the mountain peaks of Popocatepetl and Ixtaccihuatl in the background, along with a pyramid and a prominent steam locomotive approaching the viewer. The reverse includes the flags of multiple nations, with an eagle proudly astride a globe. A few light marks in the fields, otherwise as made with prooflike fields. A medal that only becomes available infrequently in gold, and that is in stellar condition. Prooflike fields and quite attractive. NGC MS-61.
Estimate: $1400.00- $1800.00
