PERU. Gold Five Piece Denomination Set, 1960. NGC MS-65 to MS-67.
Fr-78, 79, 80, 81 & 82; KM-235, 236, 229, 230 & 231. Sizable chunk of Peruvian gold weighing more than 2.5 Troy ounces AGW. The pair of large coins (50, 100 Soles) both have mintages under 2,500 with the others all under 10,000. Originally intended primarily as bullion pieces, these Peruvian issues have taken on a life of their own in the collector market since so few are preserved in high grade. The examples offered here are remarkable in that respect, averaging superb gem brilliant uncirculated (MS-66) with the 100 Soles in MS-65 and the 20 Soles in MS-67. A nicely matched set for appearance, with all of the coins exhibiting some degree of cameo effect and warm orange lustrous color. NGC MS-65 to MS-67.

Estimate: $3000.00- $4000.00
