EXTREMELY RARE. Struck in gold, Not dated, but probably struck in 1657. By John Hohn. 40 mm. H-CZ 2339. Laureate bust of John II Casimir Vasa right. Legend IOAN. CASIM. D. G. REX POL. & SUEC. M. D. L. R. PRUS. around; Reverse: A sheaf of wheat in a flowery field supported by clouds, wind and rain. Radiant JEHOVA in Hebrew characters above. Legend CAELITUS / RIGOR to left and right. Even warm yellow gold coloration overall. Wavy textured surfaces with minor hairlines. A significant and exceptionally desirable piece struck in the middle of the Swedish Deluge at a time when the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth had gained the upper hand in the conflict.
