ROMANIA. Pattern 12.5 Lei, 1906. Brussels Mint. NGC PROOF-63.
Stamb-60-1.3; KM-Pn120. Silver. Plain edge. RARE. The only piece seen by NGC. Nearly prooflike fields and sensationally struck devices combine to produce a breathtaking example of this RARE pattern striking in silver. The design is very nearly identical to the production struck coinage in gold. With a wide array of deep pastel toning adding significant character to the piece. Rose, magenta, periwinkle, and related shades are all represented. A remarkably attractive piece on many levels, and quite possibly the finest extant. NGC PROOF-63.
