ROMANIA. Galben Mare (12 Ducat), 1940. PCGS MS-61 Secure Holder.
Fr-unlisted; KM-MG4; Stam-115. VERY RARE, from a mintage of only 348 pieces. Struck to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Carol II's reign. Large format heavy gold coin which is seldom seen let alone offered. Most of the evidence of handling is located on the obverse which was likely the side in contact with whatever surface the coin was stored on. The reverse despite having broad open fields bears virtually no signs of contact, an impressive feat given the coin's size and composition. Strong yellow luster throughout with the fields of the reverse and sky on the obverse flashing and extra brilliant. An opportunity to obtain this type does not come along very often and should not be missed. PCGS MS-61 Secure Holder.

Estimate: $9000.00- $12000.00
