RUSSIA. 5 Ruble, 1903-AP. PCGS PROOF-64 CAMEO Secure Holder.
Fr-180; Y-62; Bit-30; Sev-579. RARE. PCGS and NGC combined have only graded four pieces of the date in PROOF, with the piece offered here being the only example to receive the CAMEO designation. Deep glossy mirrors grace the fields with a fine textured satin portrait that reveals nearly every hair on Nicholas II's head. An equally impressive reverse displays deep concave fields and a stunning eagle with each shield fully superimposed upon the double headed eagle. Light clear amber tone and loads of luster leave little room for improvement. A coin that is certain to entertain many potential suitors as it approaches the auction block.
