SOUTH AFRICA. Certified Bronze Minor Coinage, ca. 1923-66. ICG EF-40 Details Cleaned to MS-66 RD.
110 pieces in lot. A massive offering mostly from the Union of South Africa struck during the reigns of George V and VI with a few later pieces from Elizabeth II, plus a small selection of earlier issues. Denominations include a fairly even distribution among Farthing, Halfpenny and Penny types. All of the pieces are graded by NGC, PCGS or ICG with the majority of the pieces within NGC holders. An impressive selection to explore with only a small minority garnering less than mint state grades and an even smaller number with details grades. Includes both varieties of 1931 Farthings, one with the denomination as "1/4 PENNY" (KM-12.2) and the other as "1/4d" (KM-12.3), a sharp and fully gem 1923 1/2 Penny (KM-13.1) graded NGC MS-65 BN along with a whole panorama of other lustrous red mint state pieces. Sure to entice the specialist collector looking to expand and upgrade their collection of lower denominations, and with attractive opening bid. Moderate duplication as expected for such an enormous assemblage, and well worth closer inspection. Retail value of about $3,000. Inspection advised. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. ICG EF-40 Details Cleaned to MS-66 RD.

Estimate: $1400.00- $1800.00
