SOUTH AFRICA. 2, 2 1/2 & 5 Shillings, ca. 1926-58. NGC VF Details--Harshly Cleaned to NGC PROOF-65.
48 pieces in lot. A strong assortment of larger silver denominations from the Union of South Africa. Every piece is certified by either NGC, PCGS or ICG. Includes a total of 17 silver 2 Shilling coins with a nice run of dates and types and moderate duplication. Also included, a total of 21 of the silver 2-1/2 Shilling pieces, again with a nice run of dates and moderate duplication. Rounding out the lot, 10 silver 5 Shilling coins with only a single duplicate. The majority of the coins were struck under the reigns of George V and VI, with a few Elizabeth II issues included. A varied offering including some proof strikings and scarce dates such as a 1926 2 Shilling NGC AU-53 (KM-18), a 1948 2 Shilling PCGS PR-64 (KM-39.1) along with a 1948 2 1/2 Shilling NGC PF-65. A generous portion of high grade examples and with only a few having surface issues.
