SWITZERLAND. Solothurn Shooting Festival Commemorative 5 Franc, 1855. PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder.
Bruce-S3; HMZ2-1343a; Richter-1117a. Shooting festival version of the circulation struck 5 Franc and RARE as such. The only difference between the circulation and commemorative strikings being the inclusion of the edge legend "EIDGEN FREISCHIESSEN SOLOTHURN" which indicates it was a shooting festival emission. Mintage of only 3000 pieces and quite elusive in any grade. Especially desirable in the fully original condition seen here. Virtually no wear with light even tone and a preponderance of underlying luster. PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder.
