MIXED LOTS. Mixed Patterns, Essais & Trials Of Africa, ca. 1978-80. NGC PROOF-64 to 67.
14 pieces in lot. Narrowly focused assemblage of mostly crown size coinage from Equatorial Guinea and Sudan. Includes both silver and off metal strikings as well as uniface "prueba" strikings, several with population of one census listings at NGC. The bulk of collection consists of Equatorial Guinea issues, with several designs that were later adopted for production coinage after minor changes. Best piece of the bunch is probably the 1978 Sudan silver 10 Pounds for the Khartoum Meeting of The OAU without countermarks in PF-66 Cameo, which by itself catalogs for $1,200. Plenty of other scarce high catalog value issues, which are all generally problem free aside from a few with minor spotting attesting to the original status of the coins. A sensational collection that would likely take several lifetimes to assemble individually as most of these are fairly well dispersed at this point. Total catalog value of $2,335. Inspection advised.
