CONSTANTINE IX, 1042-1055. AV Histamenon Nomisma (4.43 gms), Constantinople Mint. NGC MS, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 5/5.
S-1829. Nimbate draped Christ enthroned facing holding gospels, one hand up in benediction; Reverse: Crowned facing bearded bust wearing loros and holding labarum at an angle and globus cruciger. Minor strike doubling on the obverse - though Christ remains unmarred - but the reverse is very handsome, with subdued toning enhancing the devices and legends. Overall a choice example. NGC MS, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 5/5.
Estimate: $700.00- $900.00
