40 mm; 28.4 gms. Cast Silver Georg Schrotl von Schrotenstain Laudatory Medal. Bearded bust right, in high collared coat. Name GEORG SCHROTL V SCHROTLSTAIN around. Reverse: Shield surmounted with facing griffins, legend ROM KAI AVCH DER ZV HUNG VND BO KO MAT RATH around. Schrotl was Chief Financier to the Austrian Emperor Rudolph II (1552-1612) whose ineffectual leadership contributed to the 30 Years War. Mount removed from top. VERY FINE.
