40.5 mm; 36.9 gms. Bramsen-952; Julius-2261. By Andrieu, Denon and Jouannin. Conjoined busts, right, of Napoleon and his second wife, Austrian Princess Maria-Louisa. Signed ANDRIEU F. on truncation; Reverse: Napoleon and Marie Louise in ancient Roman costume, holding hands before a flaming altar. Legend NAPOLEON EMP. ET ROI / M. LOUISE D AUTRICHE. to left and right. I AVRIL MDCCCX in exergue. Issued to commemorate the couple's second wedding, their first was in Vienna, home of Marie-Louise, three weeks earlier. A few moderate contact marks on Napoleon's cheek and jaw. Appealing silver-gray patina with hints of multi-color iridescence. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
