FRANCE. Transition of Napoleon's Body to Paris Gilt Bronze Medal, 1830 (Struck ca. 1840). PCGS SP-63 Secure Holder.
52.10 mm. Julius-4003; Bramsen-1986; Collignon-1233. By Montagny. Laureate head of Napoleon right with legend around; Reverse: Napoleon's casket being born toward Les Invalides, Draped Marianne at center holding palm and olive branches toward sky where the radiant figure of Napoleon is born aloft by an eagle. Remarkably well preserved with only the lightest brush of gilding loss at the tips of the highest laurel leaves. No marks in fields and rims are bump free. A very choice example.
