Laureate head of Louis Philippe I right with title around; Reverse: Draped allegorical figure of railways seated facing on central plinth with figures of Mercury and Mars leaping outward to either side, railways in background radiating outward in four cardinal directions. Legend above and two line inscription in exergue below. An impressive massive sized medal. A few small edge knocks and in the exergue on reverse there are some tiny peck marks. Otherwise the only other issues of note is some light dusty green deposits in the small crevices of detail. Nice old toning being a deep even chocolate brown on the obverse and a lighter glossy chestnut on the reverse. EXTREMELY FINE.
