FRANCE. Medal for Mutual Aid Gold Medal, 1904. UNCIRCULATED.
26.68 mm; 19.61 gms (with ribbon). Barac-240. By O. Roty. Type IV. Standing togate female handing scroll to two suited men standing at right, legends around; Reverse: Outer legend with recipient's name and tile on square at center. Wreath hanger above with suspension loop and ribbon with rosette above. Edge stamped "OR". The recipient of this medal was Olivier Bascou (1865-1940) who was serving as the government prefect of Charente at the time. Showing virtually no signs of wear with only one small edge knock and the only handling marks must be searched for. A very nice and wholly original example. UNCIRCULATED.
