GERMAN EAST AFRICA. Lot of (26) Mixed Certified Minor Coinage, ca. 1890-1916. NGC VF-30 to MS-65 RD.
An enticing group of mostly bronze, brass and copper-nickel coins from this always popular German colonial enclave, with a few silver issues included as well. Pesa, Heller, 5 Heller, 10 Heller, 20 Heller, plus 1/4 and full Rupie denominations are all included. Aside from a single coin having light environmental damage, the entire group is straight graded by either NGC, PCGS or ICG and free of problems, with the vast majority in MINT STATE condition. Moderate duplication with each piece having its own unique qualities, and including many gem or near gem condition coins. Hoards of German colonial coinage are rarely encountered; in the pristine condition seen here, the expectation for heated bidder competition is fully warranted. Approximate retail value of $1,200.
