GERMANY. Bremen. Marriage Silver Medal, 1640. VERY FINE.
67.57 mm; 89.18 gms. By J. Blum. Newlyweds standing at center facing each other and clasping hands with a pair of birds below and a cherub descending from clouds above placing laurel wreaths on their heads; Reverse: Faith seated in cart being pulled by Devotion and Love while arm descends from cloud above extending crown. This design was rendered in several degrees of detail, this one being somewhere in the middle. Though it shows only mild actual surface wear there are several significant contact marks on both sides as well as some noticeable rim bumps. Nicely toned with an even old cabinet gray throughout and striking colored hues ranging from golden yellow to deep electric blue along the peripheries and legends of either side. VERY FINE.
