GREAT BRITAIN. Shilling, ND (1561-71). Elizabeth I (1558-1603). PCGS Genuine--Damage, VF Details Secure Holder.
S-2592; N-2023. Milled coinage issue. Small size, about 29 mm in diameter. Nicely struck with decorated dress showing its multiple patterns and individual strands of hair standing out. The details designation stems from a small peck mark placed between the crown and star mintmark. A very handsome example of this first milled issue of Britain with deep toning throughout the legends and attractive sunset hued toning in the fields of the obverse. PCGS Genuine--Damage, VF Details Secure Holder.
From the Rye Collection.
