GREAT BRITAIN. Visit of Abdul Aziz to London Medal Struck in Bronze, 1867. VERY FINE.
76.40 mm; 281.61 gms. Eimer-1591; BHM-2872. By J. S. & A. B. Wyon. Bust of Abdul Aziz, Sultan of Turkey, wearing fez right; Reverse: Togate Londinia at left welcomes personification of Turkey at right, St. Paul's cathedral and the Hagia Sofia seen in background. A somewhat handled example with small scattered contact marks in the fields. Wear consistent with the grade on the higher points of relief, and a few rim bumps present. Toned a nice brazil nut brown throughout with only a few specks of brighter copper on the high points. From a modest mintage of only 350 pieces struck. VERY FINE.
