Latin: "Teach All Nations" surrounds view of the Council Fathers in session on Feast of the Immaculate Conception 1869; Reverse: View of Saint Peter's and colonnade on the 1800th anniversary of the Triumph of Saint Peter Prince of the Apostles. An unsigned work recalling the Ecumenical Council prorogued when the troops of Vittorio Emanuele II invaded Rome in 1870. Medium red brown patina without injury, flawless rims; an all around terrific example that is very close to as struck. CHOICE ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
