MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1732-F. Philip V (1700-46). ANACS Fine-12 Details--Sea Salvaged.
KM-103; Cal-Type-146#774; Gil-M-8-1; FC-1. RARE DATE. First year for the type and seldom encountered in any condition. Krause assigns a valuation of $2,750 in (VERY GOOD), $4,750 in straight graded (FINE), with catalog prices jumping to $18,000 in (EXTREMELY FINE). The coin has some problems, no question about that, but with a clear readable date there is little ambiguity to how RARE it is. Significant salt water effect evident on the obverse, with the reverse exhibiting details far superior to the FINE-Details assigned grade. ANACS Fine-12 Details--Sea Salvaged.
Estimate: $400.00- $600.00
