46.05 mm. BDM-vol V pg. 552. By M. Smeltzing. Conjoined busts of Paul Scheltus and Katharine Brants right over family crests; Reverse: Clasped hands extending from clouds with two doves atop them below radiant eye, six line inscription below with wedding date in cartouche of oak leaves at bottom. A very nice example of a seldom seen medal which has seen minimal handling over the years. Light toning over flashing silver fields with some deeper tones in protected areas of the legends. The reverse exhibits attractive light blue and aquamarine coloration. A classic looking medal struck to celebrate the anniversary of the joining of two Dutch patrician families.
