POLAND. Restoration of Augustus II Medal in White Metal, 1698. PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder.
44 mm. Hutten-Czapski-2610; Bentkowski-324. Amalthea seated left, facing right, decapitated Hydra below. To the right a pedestal with seven line lauditory inscription supports wreathed portrait of Augustus II, with legend REFERT SATVRNIA REGNA above; Reverse: Two men kneeling before nobleman and a woman holding banners. Legends CONCORDIA PROCERUM ET EXERCITUUM above, and OB REGNUM PACATUM below. A copper anode plug near the bottom of the medal has largely protected the surfaces from deterioration, however the silver-gray finish is interrupted on the highest parts of both obverse and reverse by dark spots.
