SWITZERLAND. Basel. Taler, 1640. NGC AU-55.
Dav-4606; KM-A94; cf.Divo-1337. Cherub with full wings. A beautifully struck piece with strong definition to the obverse framework and the reverse eagle. Especially appealing is the deep old cabinet toning which is contrasted nicely with multihued lustrous highlights around the devices and lettering. From pale maroon and royal blue in the more open fields to golden orange, yellow and heather green clinging in the more protected areas. With massive eye appeal and highly desirable. Some planchet flaws at the lower left rim of reverse noted only for accuracy. NGC AU-55.
Estimate: $600.00- $900.00
