SWITZERLAND. Mixed Certified Coinage, ca. 17th-20th Century. NGC, ANACS & ICG AU-50 to MS-66.
15 pieces in lot. Nearly all confederation issues, with five different denominations represented, but with a pair of highly desirable earlier pieces from Zug and Bern. Only one duplicate and a single details graded coin, with most in CHOICE MINT STATE or better condition. By catalog value, far and away the most desirable piece is an undated (1609-22) NGC graded Zug Dicken (KM-20); a notably SCARCE variety when undated. With a value of $1,500 in EF-40 and no higher grades listed in Krause, the Dicken offered here scores a full 10 points finer in ALMOST UNCIRCULATED-50. From Bern, also be sure to inspect the highly lustrous 1808 5 Batzen (KM-170) in ANACS MS-62, cataloging for $300 in BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED. The balance of the lot may well be considered a bonus in addition to the two most desirable coins, and includes an 1884-B 20 Rappen in MS-63, an 1908-B 10 Rappen in MS-66, and a very attractive silver near gem 1935-B 5 Francs in MS-64.
