HONG KONG. 50 Cents, 1951. George VI (1936-52). NGC PROOF-65.
KM-27.1; Prid-16. VERY RARE. The finest seen proof example at NGC. Though denominated as 50 Cents, the obverse die was prepared using the contemporary Southern Rhodesia Shilling punch, with the reverse dies prepared using a sketch provided by the local Hong Kong government. A coin with exemplary qualities, including deep hard mirrored fields. Essentially as struck, and remarkably free of tone given the copper nickel alloy. A nearly impossible coin to locate, the piece offered here is sure to satisfy even the most discriminating collector. NGC PROOF-65.
Estimate: $4500.00- $6000.00
