CHINA. Hollow Handle Square Shoulder Spade Money, Spring-Autumn Period (ca. 650-400 B.C.). VERY FINE.
cf.H-2.45; Jen-8. Clear fine lines and character similar to the Hartill listing, but with a circle above the lower portion rather than a cross. Dusty turquoise patina covers nearly all of the surface, a few areas lacking patina which look original and which may have been protected as the surrounding metal oxidized. Minor loss to the handle which is not uncommon and a single small pinhole near the center of the face. VERY FINE.
Estimate: $400.00- $600.00
