CHINA. Hollow Handle Square Shoulder Spade Money, Spring-Autumn Period (ca. 650-400 B.C.). VERY FINE.
H-2.79; Jen-8. An impressive piece with bold sharp lines and a clear "Shi" character. The patina is without injury and displays an alluring mixture of grayish tan and assorted shades of blue, including an intense aquamarine coloration on portions of the surface. A bit of metal missing from the top of the handle, likely as made. All things considered a highly desirable example that will add variation and depth to the collection it enters. VERY FINE.
Estimate: $350.00- $500.00
