CHINA. Hollow Handle Sloping Shoulder Spade Money, Warring States Period (ca. 400-300 B.C). VERY FINE.
H-2.171iv; Jen-10; FD-23. "Wu" (A city in Liang or Jin). Associated with the Kingdom of Zhou and the Henan area. Character a bit difficult to decipher but is nonetheless present on close inspection. Light earthen deposits on some areas, but the majority of the surface is covered by a striking blue patina which varies from vibrant cobalt to subdued teal hues. No cracks, chips or signs of tooling. A very nice example. VERY FINE.
