L&M-959; K-678; WS-0105. Struck during the relatively short presidency of Tsao Kun which began in October of 1923, the year this piece was struck. After Tsao Kun openly bribed National Assembly members with $5,000 in silver dollars to gain the presidency, the overt corruption resulted in rival factions turning against him, with Tsao Kun eventually being ousted in a coup led by General Feng Yuxiang in October of 1924. Virtually no wear, with an outline of undisturbed surface surrounding the stars in the protected areas of the reverse fields being the only trait that might suggest handling. With magnification light hairlines in the open areas of the fields can be detected, but with the overall appearance of the coin maintaining a very presentable look. NGC AU Details--Surface Hairlines.
