CHINA. Kiangnan. 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), CD (1898). NGC MS-63.
L&M-217; K-71; Y-145a.2; WS-0797. Dragon with relief eyes. A gorgeously preserved example which is a delight to behold in the hand. Fully scaled dragon with sharp detail and is more lightly toned in the periphery than the surrounding fields and presents itself with a pleasing cameo like effect. The reverse has a similar look with the central inscription bearing almost no toning while the periphery exhibits light golden and orange tones. Creamy satin silver luster throughout with a full cartwheel effect visible when turned under the light and only minimal contact marks visible in fields and on dragon's brow. A choice example with only about a half dozen pieces graded finer and well above the average seen and will be a highlight to any collection of Kiangnan Dollars. NGC MS-63.
Estimate: $20000.00- $25000.00
