CHINA. Szechuan-Shensi Soviet. Dollar, 1934. NGC EF-45.
L&M-891; K-808; Y-513.1; WS-1343. Hammer over sickle, small "o" in lower hemisphere of globe. Small solid stars. Struck during a pivotal year in the struggle between Communist and Nationalist forces. An exceptionally well made piece that started off with a great advantage over many of the other surviving examples simply because of a great strike. With far less unevenness than typically seen for the issue, the denticles are complete around the perimeter, albeit slightly stronger in some areas than others. The surfaces remain original, with an attractive olive tone, and generally free of major marks or abrasions. A pair of tiny planchet flaws on the reverse (as made) mentioned for accuracy, which do not detract appreciably from the overall appearance. A very desirable high grade piece relative to the few others available, and a coin that is sure to see considerable interest at auction. NGC EF-45.
Estimate: $5000.00- $7000.00
