Steamship with sun setting in distance and a shield inscribed "SHANGHAI / JUBILEE / NOVEMBER / 17. 1893" flanked by a pair of dragons. Across the center of the shield the recipient's name is inscribed: "H. EDBLAD"; Reverse: three conjoined municipal shields as well as the date of the opening of Shanghai as a Treaty Port, November 17th, 1843. The edge is inscribed "PRESENTED BY THE SHANGHAI MUNICIPALITY". Harold Edbald was the Swedish Consul in Shanghai, he died in 1916 in Shanghai. Attached by a jeweler's chain and fob for suspension. A scarce and highly desirable medal. Several small edge bumps, EXTREMELY FINE.
