Calima Alcarraza from Colombia, ca. 800 - 100 BC. A beautifully decorated Calima alcarraza from Colombia, ca. 300 BC - 300 AD. This finely incised globular example is 6-1/4” high and is decorated with a nicely detailed frog climbing the chamber on each side. The chamber is covered with bands of geometric and linear designs achieved with incising and puncturing techniques characteristic of the type. Strong mineral deposits. Ex Palm Beach estate. Cf.
