CYPRUS, Salamis. Nikokreon. Circa 331-310 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25.5mm, 16.87 g, 12h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Struck circa 325-320 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; rudder in left field. Zapiti & Michaelidou –; Price 3151A; Newell, Some –; Meydancikkale 1885 (same dies); ANS inv. 1944.100.34118 (same obv. die). Near VF, toned, porous, some scratches on obverse. Very rare issue without royal title, none recorded by Newell, only one in Pella database, and one (correctly identified) in CoinArchives (CNG 78, lot 407 [same dies]).
